DITCH THE ESPRESSO MARTINI
Full disclosure here, I don’t actually drink coffee. i actually have a caffeine allergy so I don’t have anything with caffeine in it, BUT! I know people love a Espresso Martini and lets be honest, that can get a little boring, so here are three coffee forward cocktails that I think you will love next time you are at the bar, having people over for drinks, or just need a little pick-me-up!
COFFEE NEGRONI
30ml Gin
30ml Campari
30ml Vermouth
15ml Fresh Espresso
Orange wedge, to garnish
Step 1. Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the Gin, Campari, Vermouth and Espresso. Stir gently for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
Step 2. Garnish with an orange wedge.
REVOLVER
60ml Bourbon
30ml Coffee Liqueur
Dash, Angostura Bitters
Orange, peel
Step 1. Add Bourbon, Coffee Liqueur and Bitters to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled (about 15–20 seconds). Strain into a chilled glass.
Step 2. Garnish with a flamed orange peel (express the oils by lighting the peel briefly over the drink, then drop it in).
CARAJILLO
60ml Licor 43
30ml Espresso Shot
Cinnamon quill
Ice
Step 1. Pour Licor 43 and Fresh Espresso (hot, room temp, or cold brew) into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until frothy and well-chilled.
Step 2. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a few gratings of cinnamon quill.
