CHINESE BURGER (肉夹馍)
This “Chinese Hamburger” is something that grabbed my attention online and I had to give it a crack. Tender meat, quickly stir fried in lots of spiced with a little green capsicum between two fresh buns and it was delicious. These 肉夹馍 would go perfectly with a cold beer!
700g rump cap, trimmed and thinly sliced
3 spring onions, finely sliced
1 green capsicum, sliced
2 tbs vegetable oil
2 tbs Chinese red pepper powder
2 tbs ground cumin
1 tsp MSG
2 white hamburger rolls (there are some great traditional recipes for making the classic laminated buns online, like The Mala Market)
Step 1. Get your wok fired up nice and HOT. Carefully add in your oil and then the sliced beef, toss well to start the stir fry process. Next, add spring onion and capsicum along with the spices and MSG. Toss well to coat and cook until meat is just tender.
Step 2. Fill your buns with the mix and enjoy!
