MasterChef All Stars – Week 1
Wow, who would have thought I would be back in the MasterChef Kitchen and back on all your television screens so soon (although I guess I have been on your TV’s a little since then) but to be honest it wasn’t very long ago that I had finished up in this kitchen in the first place. Nearly one year has gone by since Kate, Dani, Kumar and I were in the kitchen and my what a whirlwind that has been. Full of exciting new adventures, lots of travel, a bit of tv, plenty of time in and out of the ocean and of course food and writing my first book along with releasing two parts of my three part eBook series Hayden Cooks.
I think the best way to cover my first week back in the MasterChef kitchen is through pictures. They say a picture tells a thousand words and I really don’t have the time to write a thousand words and nor could you really be bothered reading them. So the coolest thing about All Stars was the fact that we could have our phones, have our cameras, meaning you guys and girls get to have a bit more of an insight into the comings and goings of how we make this amazing show that has captivated the Australian audience.
So first things first and that means, shooting publicity stuff, making the title (the intro into the show) and of course everyone’s favourite the show teaser.

And for those who keep asking; yes they are real chili’s and yes they were hot and yes I had to do it a number of times!!!!

Back with our old comrades. It was great to be back together, sharing some stories and anticipating what was to come.
Some familiar faces, but my how most of us have changed since we first walked into the Masterchef Kitchen.

Things happen very quickly in the world of Masterchef (well most of the time, I am sure the contestants and judges sometime think things seem to go on forever) however it was not long before we were in our yellow, blue and red aprons and off and cooking. And didn’t we just jump straight into the deep end, and by deep end I mean croquembouche.
The trick to any croquembouche is how you attach your flowers.
We obviously attached out flowers the best and it was victory to the yellow team and $5,000 to each of our chosen charities. I most definitely know that my charity, BoysTown will be over the moon with this result.
One thing you most certainly do not miss in the Masterchef house is living right on the water and watching sunrises like these.

I am in the US and have found dailymotion.com. I have not checked to see if they are playing the All Star series yet (just finishing up season 3) but have found the video quality and availability a lot more reliable then youtube.
